We Need Lynda’s Management Skills
Energy Consultant: Lynda became immersed in the diversity of Oakland, in early 1990’s while working downtown on a consulting project with a Demand Management Company, where she oversaw their energy efficiency rebates program for the Oakland community. Both for low income and small businesses.
Federal Investigator of Oakland Toxic Release Sites: In the late 1990’s, Lynda oversaw the Toxics Releases Inventory Program. She inspected Oakland manufacturers, assessed penalties and took actions at facilities such as smelters, foundries, and cement plants to reduce emissions. As an advocate, she fought for those settlement dollars to go to tribes and to the impacted communities.
Federal Environmental Justice Champion: Lynda oversaw the public outreach portion of the USEPA Community Right-to-Know program. She worked with the environmental justice communities of Richmond and Oakland, providing grants and training Citizens for Better Environment (CBE) and Asian Pacific Environmental Network (APEN).
Import/Export Inspector and Enforement Agent: Lynda was the program leader of TSCA (Toxic Substances Control Act). She inspected, enforced and provided workshop trainings for Homeland Security after 9/11. Collaborating with the Port of Oakland and protecting the community from unregistered chemicals entering the Oakland port.
Local Government Climate Action: Lynda was selected for the competitive USEPA Region 9 Leadership Development program, and was place based in the Oakland office of the ICLEI USA (https://iclei.org/) where she organized the first US Mayors accord at Sundance, and secured a grant that developed GHG Emission Inventories & Municipal Climate Action Plans for 15 cities using cutting-edge software and programming.
